    GRANITE AWARD at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The schedule for the evening will be as follows:

     As you may know, the GRANITE AWARD was established in 1990 to recognize an outstanding citizen of our state who, in their daily life, exemplifies and magnifies the great virtues of Patriotism, Leadership and Humanitarianism.  Over the last eighteen years we have selected and honored some outstanding citizens of our state.

     Enclosed please find two tickets for you to buy or sell.      2008 Scholarship Announcement
    KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
    The Bishop Matthew F. Brady Memorial Scholarship Fund

    1. Four or more $750 Scholarships.
    2. Eligibility:
    1. Dependent sons, daughters or wives of members in good standing of a Council within the jurisdiction of the State of New Hampshire.
    2. Dependent sons, daughters and wives of deceased members (in good standing at the time of their death) of a Council within the jurisdiction of the State of New Hampshire.
    3. Members (in good standing) of a Council within the jurisdiction of the State of New Hampshire.
    3. Applications may be obtained from the Scholarship Committee Chairman.
    4. Application deadline is July 15, 2008.

    Leave the Full Name and Complete Address of the Scholarship Applicant When Requesting Information

    APPLICATION PROCEDURE

    1. Applicant should complete the attached questionnaire.
    2. Applicant should bring the application to the Financial Secretary of the local Council and request that the certification section of the application be completed. 
    3. In addition to this application form, two other documents should be submitted by the applicant.  These documents are the following.
    1. A recent Transcript of High School grades (if applicant is a High School senior,) or a recent Transcript of College grades (if applicant is a College student.)
    2. A copy of the Financial Aid Award Letter that will be sent by the school that applicant plans to attend in the Fall.

    Both of these documents are essential for the members of the Scholarship Committee for evaluating the academic potential and the financial need of the applicants.  If an application is not accompanied by these documents, the Scholarship Committee will not consider it.

    5.  The Application must be submitted by Postal Mail. 

    6.  Application deadline:  Postmarked no later than July 15, 2008.

  • Council #8016 will Host the State Youth Soccer Challenge at Mascenic Regional High School on Sunday October 7th . Start Time 1pm to 5pm. Directions from anywhere North East or West, we can't be any further South if we tried. Take route 101/31 to Route 124. From Keene Area or North West Route 202 in Jaffrey to 124 in Jaffrey Center and stay on 124.

• State Scholarship Raffle Tickets

  • State Raffle Tickets were available and distributed at the State Convention. They are packaged in books of 6 tickets at the cost  $5.00 for a book of 6 tickets. The big change this year will be that the tickets will be stapled on the Right side of the ticket making it easier to tear off the stubs for submission. This change was based on feedback from Grand Knights at last year's State Ball.

• Family of the Month Program - September 17, 2007

  • The family of the month program is a program that allows our councils to recognize families that are symbolic of true family life.  Nominees of this award are families that are seen together and active in our councils, churches, and communities.  The program is an established program from Supreme that requires the councils to utilize form 1993A or the online link listed below to nominate families for this award.  Each council should recognize a deserving family each month with entries due by the 15^th of each month for the previous month’s nominee.  All nominees are entered into the quarterly State drawing and also the Supreme monthly award.  For additional questions please contact the State Family Dir., Matt Ruger via email at mruger11@comcast.net or at (603) 887-7612.

        Please also note that you should be working on your submissions for the State family of the year nominations.  Nominations for the State family of the year should be submitted no later than March 15th.  Nomination submissions should detail the reasons that the nominated family is deserving of the recognition of this prestigious State family award.  A couple of paragraphs will not suffice.  Submissions should be a well written “story” on why the family is being nominated.  Please send these to me before the deadline in order to have your nominations included in the selection of this award.
