Labor Day Get Away at Camp Fatima

CAMPERS:

It's time for all forms to be made out, signed, check enclosed and sent to Ed Mele, PSD 9 Walnut Hill Road Derry, NH 03038.

If no forms how can we have Corn and Watermelon on Saturday night, or how can we have breakfast on Sunday morning. Need to know how much edibles to buy- If you wait until Friday August 31, it's too late to get supplies so three (3) things would have to be cancelled.

How about how many children are coming for the Games on Saturday- NO head count - No gifts - HOW SAD FOR THE CHILDREN

Be responsible, get the FORMS AND CHECKS in Please!

State Camporee Weekend

Camp Fatima was founded in 1949 by Fr. Hector Bonner and is diocesan owned.

Over the years in order to alleviate some of the burdens of the Diocese, the Knights started a Camp Fatima Improvement Fund and Program. As part of this effort, each council would take one cabin and be responsible for its upkeep. To show their appreciation, the Diocese allowed the Knights to hold a Camp Fatima Camp-o-ree on the Labor Day Weekend. This time was also used to close the camp up for the winter.

As time went by, councils turned their attention elsewhere. So to have the help needed to fix up the camp for the summer season alternate methods were tried to tie service to the camp with participation during the Camp-o-ree .

Some of these methods worked for awhile but active interest again dwindled. It was finally decided that those whose came work weekend would have first dibs on the cabin assignments for the Camp-o-ree. All remaining cabins are assigned on a first come, first serve basis to any Knight in good standing to come to Camp-o-ree. There are also spaces for tents and RVs . So those who would like to come please fill out the forms below.

The following are documents related to registration for the State Camporee Weekend. Please contact Ed Mele Jr, the chairman, should you have any questions.

About Camp Fatima and Camp Bernadette

Location

Camp Fatima and Camp Bernadette (or Bernie, as we like to call it) are sponsored by the Diocese of Manchester, NH. Located in Gilmanton Iron Works and Wolfeboro, in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, they are traditional summer camps oriented toward land and water sport activities.

  Facilities

Fatima and Bernadette are overnight Camps for campers ages 6-15, who are grouped into divisions according to age -Juniors (6-10), Intermediates (11-12), and Seniors (13-15). Campers stay in cabins with 2 counselors and approximately 12 other campers.

Fatima and Bernadette both feature well-maintained facilities such as their field houses, rec halls, infirmaries, dining halls, and chapels. Good traveling roads make the Camps easily accessible from major New Hampshire cities such as Manchester and Concord. More information on program activities can be found in Info for Campers.

Founded in 1953, Camp Bernadette has a camper capacity of 270 girls per session and enjoys an early registration each season with the maximum enrollment attained each summer. Bernie has 21 camper cabins with complete bathroom facilities located within each camper division. The Camp is located approximately 20 miles south of NH's White Mountains and a half-hour's drive from Camp Fatima.
