An organization of more than 20,000 young men who have fun and share their Catholic faith, help people in need, and enjoy the company of friends in social, family, athletic, cultural, civic and spiritual activities. As a Squire, you'll be a member of one of more than 1,300 "circles" located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, the Caribbean, and other places where Knights of Columbus councils are located. Every circle is sponsored by a Knights of Columbus council, and Knights serve as adult counselors to the group.
The fives levels are as follows:
| Page
|
Shield Bearer | Swordsman
|
Lancer
|
Squire of the Body
of Christ |
Upon attaining each level, a
special pin and certificate will be awarded to the young man. To attain a level,
points are accumulated for performing good deeds or specific chores in four
categories. The categories are:
| Home and Family | Squires and
Knights |
Community and
Country |
Church |
By following this new format,
our young squires will be involved in many different activities, including
programs with the Knights and their councils. This also gives a young squire a
chance to involve his Mother and Father in special activities that may bring
them in closer contact with the activities of our councils. It is a great
program and a win, win situation for all involved. A CD has been issued with all
the details of the program. It will be coming to all of the councils and the
circle counselors. Please review the details carefully and let's get this going
ASAP.
